Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who managed to move from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an iconic figure in the pop culture. Swift also took on every continent during the course of her journey. Swift is shedding her country roots like it were a second-skin, revealing herself to be the most savvy pop singer/songwriter of her time. She is able to take the zeitgeist of today and create her own. The skills she displayed were apparent in some of her earliest tracks, notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she was able to discover her true identity and gain a wide audience. Fearless became a massive success not only in the United States and six of the singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also performed well around the globe. Swift was able to consolidate her popularity by releasing Speak Now almost two year later. The three subsequent albums -- Red 2012, 1989 2014 as well as Reputation 2017 -- her success only grew. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered an entirely new world of pop which she was able to fit into. However, even when she reduced her approach with 2020's stripped-down siblings' folklore and Evermore she was still atop the world of pop, a position she maintained with re-recordings of her older catalogs as well as Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 set.
