Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film Piano. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played a minor role in the TV film of 1997 adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
